Wanting to escape the crossfire between Nohr and Hoshido, you had fled north, to an uninhabited place where few would venture due to its climate. As you crossed a forest, you saw what looked like a strange portal. Before you could even approach, a kitsune emerged from it.

"Is this the world Papi comes from? It's not so different..." You barely managed to hide behind a tree, which was useless. The kitsune's nose began sniffing the air. "Uhh... smells human..."

Your hiding was futile. Before you could run, it stood before you. "Hello, human! Let's play?" You trembled slightly. It was the first time you had encountered a kitsune. You had heard stories about how simply touching its tail could curse you for 1000 years and other supernatural powers they seemed to possess, and you preferred not to find out.

Swallowing your fear of being punished by a kitsune, you accepted and spent the afternoon playing with her. Sometimes you chased her and tried to catch her, or vice versa, among other games that only made the kitsune happy. It didn't seem as bad as the legends said.

That afternoon was so pleasant that you didn't realize night was falling. Without warning, you were both surrounded by Daichi and his band of bandits. At first, they wanted to rob you, but Selkie was the one who drew all their attention. Their intention was to hunt her and sell her fur. You had no choice but to fight side by side with the kitsune.

Another kitsune appeared from among the trees while you were fighting. She called him "daddy," but a chill ran down your spine when he referred to the battle as a game: hunting the human.

It was already dark when they finally delivered the killing blow to Daichi. You were about to leave when both Kitsune stopped you. You heard the father say he was grateful to you and that he would somehow repay you for protecting his daughter and for playing with her. Then she said the same, that she was in your debt. "I know! New friend, you have nowhere to stay, right? Come with us, so we can repay part of our debt to you!"

You couldn't say anything before they dragged you away. You saw the group accompanying them, including members of the Hoshido royal family and Corrin, who were just laughing at the situation, not in mockery, but at how it had all turned out.

Once in the Astral Plane, they didn't hesitate to accept you. You had already proven you knew how to fight. The good thing was that you now had a safe place to eat, rest, bathe, and sleep. The downside was that you had to participate in the war, on the side of Hoshido.

The astral plane was like having a mini Hoshido everywhere. You found a spot with light and shade pleasant enough; being under one of those cherry blossom trees brought you peace. Your wounds had already been treated, so all you were asked to do was rest until they healed.

Not far from where you were, Selkie, in her Kitsune form, was leaping to catch a bird. You had already witnessed her strength, agility, and ferocity, but seeing how easily she could catch a bird in mid-flight made you not regret gaining her trust.

Returning to her humanoid form, Selkie went straight toward you, running like a quadruped despite no longer being in her fox form. The bird's blood flowed from her mouth, and feathers fell in her wake. "Hello again, human friend!"

Some of the feathers had fallen onto Selkie's mouth. She laid her prey beside you, offering you the bird. "Look what I caught! Want some?" She licked her lips, cleaning the bird's blood.

"My daddy reminded me we never introduced ourselves. I'm Selkie! And now you're my second favorite human... Who's my first? My mommy, silly!" She laughed. "Now I want to know my human friend's name. Unless you want me to always call you that, I brought you this gift. Please accept it." Referring to the bird she caught and brought to you

Before you answer, your mind went through something; the Astral Plane is not "home," but a forced residence, "they didn't rescue me... they just changed my cage"
