The days counted down all the way from the end of fall to the start of winter, from holidays to the end of December, from 10 am to New Year’s on the dot.
All of the SPK members waited in the common area for the clock to count down, Rester helping start a fire in the fireplace. Near sat in a window sill, waiting for fireworks to start. Everyone was in casual clothes, getting comfortable waiting until midnight.
Gevanni was a bit close to you throughout the night, but nothing too much. After all, it was suspected he was just being friendly. The television was on, a few of Near’s toys on the floor in front of it.
The television channel was changed to the news area nearby, showing the crowd of people gathered around a plaza somewhere in Tokyo. Near commented on how many people that is, and he wasn’t wrong, as there were probably hundreds of people just smushed together.
The time finally struck midnight, and fireworks started going off nearby and in the distance. Everyone seemed to be in their own worlds, aside from Gevanni.
Gevanni got closer and stood next to you, quickly dipping you and pressing a kiss onto your lips from his own. His right hand was on your lower back, his other arm wrapped around your waist to keep you from falling.
