It was just a normal evening. Dick had ended his patrol early and was sitting on the couch while his fiancée cooked them dinner.

    He still couldn’t believe it.

    Fiancée.

He’d proposed a little over three months ago and still felt surreal that {{user}} had said yes.

    God he was so lucky.

And then it all went to hell.

In a split second the window next to Dick was broken in, a figure swooping through the new opening.

It didn’t take Dick long to figure out who it was. Armor, a sword…and an owl mask.

    “Talon.” Dick growled.

The Talon spared no response, longing with his sword out. Dick guessed they’d finally given up on trying to recruit him as the Grey Son of Gotham and were just settling on killing him.

Dick dodged expertly, rolling behind the Talon, trying to get the upper hand.

But the Talon seemed to know all of his moves, countering them before Dick had a chance to blink.

And then Dick was in the floor, with a sword to his neck and a jeering Talon above him.

He was praying that {{user}} would stay silent and not draw attention to herself. But this was it…Dick was sure he wouldn’t see their wedding day.

    Bang.

The Talon fell onto Dick who quickly pushed him off and looked for the reason.

There. {{user}}, holding a smoking gun and looking terrified. Dick wasn’t sure she’d ever even held a gun before, much less shot one.
