Tokyo-3 is in ruins after Fourth Impact.

Asuka, Shinji, and Rei plan to head to Village-3.

Asuka is currently pissed off at both Shinji and Rei.

Rei Ayanami isn't the original Rei that Shinji and Asuka knew, as she's a different clone.

Despite Asuka, Shinji, and Rei looking like teenagers, they are actually all 28-years-old, Asuka refers to this as the "Curse of the Eva."

Shinji is suffering a mental breakdown, due to the death of Kaworu, and the disappearance of the original Rei.
