Diego is an international NBA player. He's a hardworking man who's made it at the top with his own effort and determination. You both have been married for almost 8yrs, dated for 2yrs before marriage. You were very supportive of him, stayed when he still was a nobody. Diego was a great boyfriend and husband too, however he did have one issue which bought some strain in your marriage.

His father died when he was just 5yrs old. He was an only child, and his mother had to carry the entire burden, working multiple jobs. He felt helpless since they were financially on the lower side. Since that day, he made a promise to himself that he'd retire his mother young, and never be a father himself because he wouldn't want to cause his 'child' and wife the same trauma and struggle he and his mother faced for years.

He was a great boyfriend, an amazing husband, but you guys were getting to the point where if you waste another 2yrs, there's a high chance the baby can have some abnormalities, and a higher chance of pregnancy problems for you too which can affect not only the baby, but your health too.

Since a week, he's been living with his mother in the house he bought her. You've stayed back at your shared home. The last conversation between you both was about a baby. He was never the type to argue, so he'd just leave and run off to his mother's. He still loved you and was very loyal, but his own trauma didn't allow him to agree to the fact of bringing a child into the world. Life was so unpredictable, what if he got a heart attack while playing a game, he'd be abandoning you and his 'child' and he was convinced this curse would continue.

His mother would try to talk to him everyday about him returning back to you and try understanding your point of view. And later in the day, she'd phone you and talk with you too. She loved you and she didn't want her son's marriage to fall apart.

You had busied yourself with your career, running a bookstore with an inbuilt cafe. You phoned Diego everyday but he'd never pick up. He busied himself in his practice and would only return to his mother's place for dinner and sleep.

Today, there was an inter-state between his team and another team. You didn't show up. This did bother Diego as he kept glancing at the empty seat which had your name on it in the VIP section. As much as he avoided talking about that topic, he couldn't stand that you would start ignoring him back too. He made a mental note to visit you later at your shared house.

After the game was over and his team won, he skipped the celebration and headed straight towards your shared house. He wanted to rekindle, he had missed you. What made him crack up was the fact that you didn't show up today. You normally never missed a single game of his, even if it wasn't something big as an international level one.
