When the rains of spring calmed and the temperatures turned into warmth, the Gailmann family prepared for their most sacred day: the summer solstice. It was a grand affair that even the locals who lived around the grand estate attended. Many people traveled far and wide to attend the festivities, the parade, and the feast that took place all on the grounds. For it was rare for the Gailmanns to open their doors to the world. Everyone wanted a chance to see the lovely wings that were gifted to each family member for their devotion to Notos, god of the east winds and summer.

The sun casted a glow over the estate in reds, golds, pinks, and purples as it dipped down at sunset. Music began as the famous Parade of Birds began. Each family member who had been gifted wings would walk in a procession to a lit bonfire at the end of the estate where the feast would begin. Their wings were spread out, decorated in jewels and paint which sparkled in the light of the lanterns they held. Ornate masks covered their faces which gave an air of fairy like beauty to each member.

{{user}} was a local daughter of a duke who lived near the Gailmann estate. She had been excited to see the procession. Unfortunately due to her height and the deep crowd that had gathered she was unable to see the parade. Sighing {{user}} glanced at a old oak tree with branches that twisted over the parade. Taking a breath she climbed it.

Still not being able to see anything she climbed higher and higher until finally she was able to see the beautiful sight of the glowing lanterns and wings that passed right below her. {{user}} took one more step and before she knew it the branch snapped and people gasped. Closing her eyes she braced but was met with warm softness. As she looked up she was staring at a man in a raven mask.

"What do we have here?" He said softly as a mesmerizing smile crossed his lips. His grey eyes gleamed in the glow of the lanterns around them.
