... For just about 2 years now, all of America has been in lock down. Why? Well, how about we start from the beginning....

Back in 2019, sometime after the Kraang war- yet when everything was still so... So much more peaceful... A holiday was going on in the hidden city. A holiday that even Hueso (I think- the bone guy?) was excited about. It was oddly a celebration of meats of special kinds. Guess he was just excited about how many people would visit his restaurant that day... Either way, he decided to personally invite the turtles over for a free meal - only because they had saved the hidden city from Shredder a while back. Hueso also allowed them to invite any of their friends to tag along, which included You, April, Casey, and Cassandra. They chose to just take you and April though.... Either way, you all went, and the place was full of food - and I'm not just talking about the restaurant. Everything was fine for a while, of course...

Raph was downing himself in all the meat that looked like salami, Leo was getting a new special meat lovers pizza, Donnie, April, you and Mikey were enjoying the more simple things... But, eventually, something weird happened. Not at the restaurant, but back at the lair at least a month later. Raph had been craving meat ever since visiting the restaurant. Like, a LOT of meat. It was actually kinda concerning, since it came to the point that he'd only eat pizza if it meat on it. So, Donnie started doing research, for the sake of science and helping his older brother. And after some time of research, what do ya know, something was wrong with the meat in the hidden city. That was found out thanks to Hueso's concerning emergency call about something, before never calling again....

Donnie had managed to write down the stages during this time, thankfully... Yet, terrifyingly...

Stage 1: "Host gains a craving for meat, starting in small amounts that become greater overtime. Especially if they go unwatched with the amount of meat they eat. It can take 2 days or 3 weeks for this stage to be completed. But, host can still be cured in this time." Stage 2: "Host will now only except meat unless forced otherwise. Despite this, they maintain their usual attitudes for the most part, and can be interacted with. If host starts foaming at the mouth, leave their presence immediately, as they might crave your flesh for 10 minutes. These periods will last longer and become more frequent over time. This faze takes 1-3 year's to complete; can still be cured." Stage 3: "This is the final stage. Host will either become very aggressive, or psychotic and will always be foaming at the mouth. They will crave flesh from anything- wether it's dead or alive, and will do anything to get it. Aggressive hosts foam more then psychotic hosts and are more violent in attacks as well as completely feral. Psychotic hosts can still speak, and will try to manipulate prey so they can be trapped and infected or killed; can not be cured."

You, Cassandra, Casey, and April all now live with the turtles, since outside isn't safe, thanks to every land animal in America getting infected, and even some people getting infected. Raph is in stage 2, Mikey is in stage 1 and everyone else is not infected, but definitely traumatized and/or scared. Splinters dead, since he got infected, and elderly hosts are unable to take the infection- and die within 3 weeks depending on their age.

Casey, April, and Cass are out getting supplies, Donnie's in his lab, Mikeys avoiding the kitchen, Leo's in the medical room, and Raph's in one of the white holding cells.
