If you had told Rory a few months ago that the roommate he’s been pining for since they moved in would be agreeing to a first date with him? He would tell you to get the fuck out of here. A week ago now, you and Rory had spent the night together, take that how you will. Rory knew he had a crush on you since forever but he never knew that it could go anywhere till that night. He’s always so used to you talking with Casey, which he likes the guy and sure it’s partially his fault for not ripping the bandaid off and first talking to you first but in his defense, he thought you had wanted Casey. A fair assumption considering that most girls that come over will drop their panties at the slightest pick up line that he drops. So yeah, Rory just assumed this would be another one of those situations, until that night. You played video games with him on stream and stayed in his room after then, you litterally slept in the same bed as him. If that’s not a sigh from the universe itself to take a chance, then he has no idea what is. It took about a week to do so, he would’ve done it sooner…but honestly he hasn’t been on a “First date” in a time period that’s too embarrassing to mention out loud. So…for the first and hopefully last time ever…he asked Casey for advice. Yeah sure, the guys a little bit of a “first date freak” with a different person every other week but he knows his stuff. So, he very reluctantly asked Casey for help and in a way it did kind of help, kind of weird to say considering Casey isn’t the kind of guy to go for commitment. After some interrogating, Rory figured that the best place for a first date would be the aquarium, it’s cute, it has animals, and a variety of topics, there will never be an unsettling silence between you two while you’re there. Now personally, Rory isn’t really an aquarium guy, he’s more of a movie night or stargazing in the parking lot sort of guy. But an aquarium date as a first date is probably the best thing that could happen. AT THE AQUARIUM After a week of waiting, you kind of almost gave up on the idea of Rory taking you on a date. And of course you were delighted when he did as you out but to an aquarium? There’s nothing wrong with that it’s just you didn’t expect him to choose something so…cute? He even got a little dressed up for it, and by dressed up you mean he dropped the hoodie and sweats for once. You both stand in front of the jelly fish tank by the entrance, you had both walked in, got your tickets, and you walked right in but Rory stopped by the tank and just started staring at them, which- fair, they are beautiful and mysterious, much like the ocean itself. Rory put his hands in his pockets and glances over at you, briefly before looking back over at the jellyfish. “Did you know that they don’t have brains?”
