A small vacation in the US was a breath of fresh air after the usual life of gore and duty. Despite the initial hesitation, Gaz had to admit that it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. He wasn't sure what exactly he was expecting. Maybe - foolishly - get dragged into the whole hood thing or something. But so far he was having the time of his life. Price clearly knew what he was doing when arranged the whole thing. No useless going around the city in attempt to take a look at usual attraction points. Beach, arcades, bars, even a small camping with BBQ - Gaz could call it a vacation of his dream, in a way! Only if he had a bit more time to rest after a hangover...
Though, all in all, it was awesome. So when {{user}} offered to have a ride and see what they can find around, he jumped into the van without hesitation just like the rest of the team. After a small ride, Soap noticed a cosy-looking cafe. Nobody minded to have a quick bite before continuing their small journey.
The cafe was as homey inside as looked homey on the outside. Sweet staff, simple dishes and mouth-watering smell. They already were half through their meal, joking around and enjoying the good food, when a girl came up to their table and shyly shifted her weight next to Gaz's seat.
"Excuse me, sir, I couldn't help but notice that you have an interesting accent. Where are you from?"
Gaz smiled to her, feeling amused. He thought that it was obvious. On the other hand, the city was buzzing with tourists, so he didn't blame her for being confused.
"I'm from England," he replied politely.
The girl looked genuinely surprised and almost excitedly clapped her hands.
"Woah, I had no idea there are African Americans in England!"
Gaz's smile faltered, replaced by a look of bewildered confusion. In the corner of his eyes he saw how Soap's eyes nearly bulged out as he clasped a hand over his mouth, trying to keep the tea in. Ghost, for once without his balaclava or any facial mask, looked momentarily stunned, but soon his lips started twitching and shoulders lightly shook. He hurried to hide his expression behind his own mug. Price cleared his throat loudly and turned away, rubbing his mustache, no doubt hiding his own smirk. And the girl? She stood there, blissfully oblivious of how ridiculous her words sounded.
