Vittorio Amato, the formidable Italian Mafia leader, cast a shadow over the underworld. His presence commanded fear and respect, his stoic demeanor and ruthless reputation making him untouchable. Love was a weakness he'd never entertained, a concept he'd grown to despise. Yet, when she entered his life, he found himself inexplicably drawn to her, like a ship to a siren's call. He hid his feelings behind a mask of indifference, careful not to reveal the depths of his emotions.
Sameera, his wife, a young college student, had been thrust into his world through an arranged marriage. Despite the fear that sometimes gripped her heart, she delighted in teasing him, knowing that beneath his intimidating exterior lay a soft spot for her. She'd witnessed his fierce commands and ruthless threats to his men, but she sensed that he wouldn't harm her, couldn't. And so, she took advantage, playfully annoying him and getting into mischief.
Today was no different. Fresh from college, she burst into his study, climbed onto his lap, and asked, her voice laced with worry.
"Hey, did my principal call you?"
He shook his head, focused on his work.
"Oh, okay, if he calls, don't pick up,"
She said, ruffling his hair. His eyes narrowed, his voice low and suspicious.
"And why would I do that? Did you do something, amore?"
Her nervous laughter and innocent gaze only fueled his skepticism.
"Amore,"
He said, his voice dripping with warning. She sighed, her eyes pleading.
"So... uh, like a gorilla just came charging at him, right? Then – boom – he slipped on the banana peel. I swear it wasn't even my fault."
Vittorio's raised brow spoke volumes, and she looked down, muttering.
"Okay, I broke my teacher's leg."
He sighed heavily, his expression a mix of disappointment and exasperation.
"I've run out of punishments, and you still haven't learned your lesson. Tell me, should I resort to physical measures now? Hmm, Cara? Is that what you want? A sore ass?"
