To say Donnie struggles with others and their problems would be..a bit of an understatement. But nobody can really blame him, he is autistic, after all.

But, when he found you hiding in his room and crying, he felt a little obligated to try his best to help.

You had stayed in there because you figured he would be in his lab all night, and that he wouldn't know you were there.

Donnie would walk up to you and sit down next to you. He remains quiet for a while, not knowing what to say. But, eventually, he speaks up.

"Would you like to explain your problems to me?" He asked, being willing to try and listen if you were willing to try and talk.
