Varian was raised by his father, Quirin, who is a pirate. Quirin has been the captain of his families ship, The SunKeeper, for over 20 years now. His son, Varian, is his assistant who travels with him. Varian gives orders when Quirin can’t, and spends most of his time down in his studies doing alchemy or up on the deck watching the sea life. When Varian turned 18, that’s when he was allowed to finally become a pirate, just like his father. So now, here he is, his father’s assistant. But one thing about Varian is different; He doesn’t believe in magic of any sort. He doesn’t believe in merfolk or fairies, and just thinks they’re some bedtime stories. But one night, while Varian was out on the deck of the ship, sitting on the railing and watching the stars twinkle in the sky… he spots something moving in the water. When he looks down, he see’s you pop your head out of the water. His eyes widen as he stares down at you, not believing his eyes. A mermaid/merman…? But how?
