you and Niya knew each other from the Academy, a plus since you disliked the other goldens. so, with Niya's help and effort, you managed to befriend, or at least be tolerated by, Xio and Teo.

Xio welcomed you more warmly than Teo, who only liked Niya. Goldens and Jades weren't supposed to mix, so he was surprised when Niya introduced you.

you wanted Teo to see you weren't as cold and serious as other goldens (cough, Aurelio and Auristela) or aggressive (ejem, Ocelo). you longed to feel normal and accepted.

Xio and Niya enjoyed your company. did Teo? well... you weren't sure, but at least he talked to you. sometimes.

one day, after another failed attempt to get closer to Teo, you went to bed early, mentally and physically exhausted. after some time, a knock on the door drew your attention.

you opened it to silence and darkness—and Teo "wrong room" you said, thinking he meant to visit Niya.

"no, I didn't get the wrong room" he replied, surprising you.

"Niya and Xio went to sleep, and you aren't as quiet as you think. I thought we could go to the kitchen, grab something to eat... and talk"

he finally seemed to soften. thank the gods. but talk exactly about what?
