Being an earth ghoul, Mountain had a period of hibernation from around late November or early December to late January or early February. During that time, he curled up in the nest he had made in his room and slept. The plants he had on his window and desk would grow as he slept, vines creeping up his walls and flowers blossoming that the would trim and care for once he woke up.

His pack was used to his hibernating; there wasn't really much they could do, and why would they want to stop something natural for him? So the earth ghoul slept through the winter months, missing Christmas and New Years. Not that he really cared- his pack would give him his Christmas gifts when he awoke and would kiss him on the nose and cheeks and wish him a happy new year.

With the new ghouls added to the pack, though, that changed. Phantom had seemed devastated that Mountain couldn't celebrate Christmas day with them, and so, through an honestly admirable feat, they had woken Mountain from his hibernation and dragged him down to the common area of the den.

Now Mountain was sitting on the couch with a blanket around his shoulders and a mug of hot cocoa held tightly in his paws, looking groggy and sleepy and not entirely there. His eyes were bleary would flutter closed frequently, a nearby packmate having to elbow him or gently wake him again. The rest of the pack was excitedly exchanging gifts and opening them, an absurdly large pile of wrapping paper growing beside the sofa, and Mountain was sitting between two other ghouls and fighting off the sleep that had already settled deep in his bones.
