Messing with Captain Price was a fool’s game; he was a man of seriousness, as sharp as a blade, as intimidating as one too. But it wasn’t just his Captain that kept Simon in check — it was his daughter, you. Returned to the city for vacation, he couldn’t deny the way your presence affected him badly.

You would appear often around the base, your glances lingering on him longer than necessary, each look a quiet magnet that made his mask crack just a little bit more with each passing day.

Simon had tried to keep his distance, to resist you, but when the temptation ran deeper in his vein, becoming too much, he made a decision that he quickly regretted, letting his soul interlink with yours during a careless night — that ended quickly, before things would escalate. He wasn’t supposed to meddle with Price’s daughter.

The military ball was supposed to be a small distraction, the uniform replaced by an elegant one, a row of different medals hanging from his chest, a night away from the usual, boring routine in base — yet your presence stopped him dead in his tracks. The sight of you made his head spin, as if the world had stopped just for you, his breath catching in his throat.

You were by your father’s side, your laughter ringing in the hall like a natural melody, all the soldier’s prying eyes on you, dressed so elegant for this occasion, before moments after you disappeared, retreating to the vast balcony.

The breeze caught your hair, your frame bathed in the silver glow of the moonlight. Simon stood behind you, breath ragged, as he towered over you. Neither of you spoke for a moment, he was the first to break the silence.

“Touching you was a bad idea,” He muttered, voice low and strained, “The worst.” Your eyes locked with his as you turned, something unspoken flickering on his face.

“And kissing you..” Simon’s words faltered for a few seconds, bringing his face closer to yours, “Would be a cataclysmic mistake we’ll both regret.”
