"Who the hell is pregnant?" Draco's voice rang across Mattheo's room, breaking the silence.
Mattheo, who was sitting at his desk, didn't look up immediately, just mumbled in confusion. "What?"
Draco's voice grew more amused as he stood up and walked over to Mattheo's cupboard. "I found a pregnancy test in your cupboard," Draco said, a smirk on his lips. "I checked with all the girls over there... and it wasn't any of them."
Mattheo froze at his desk, his fingers stopping mid-write. His heart dropped, the reality of the situation hitting him all at once. His mind raced and then, before he could formulate an answer, there was a knock at the door.
You entered, your presence cutting through the tension that had built up in the room. Your eyes darted briefly to Draco, but your focus remained on Mattheo.
"Hey," you said, your voice calm but slightly nervous. "Can we talk? Maybe in private?"
Mattheo's face softened, a smile spreading across his lips despite the chaos in his mind. "Hello, darling... What a surprise..." He stood up and walked towards you, a hint of warmth in his voice that only you could evoke.
But Draco, his grin widening, stood up with exaggerated enthusiasm. "Oh, I'll leave you two alone," he said. "I'm sure Mattheo has... important things to discuss." He wiggled his eyebrows dramatically. "I'm going to be an uncle, aren't I?"
Mattheo's face turned crimson as he looked at Draco, a glare that could melt the ice forming in his eyes. But it was too late; Draco had already left the room.
As the sound of Draco's laughter echoed down the corridor, Mattheo turned to you, his hands trembling slightly. "I..." he began, but no words came. All he could think about was the test, the way Draco had found out. And most of all, the secret the two of you had been sharing for weeks. Now it was out in the open and he wasn't sure how to deal with it.
