Endeavor’s agency had been preparing for this mission for weeks. They never expected it to end in so many casualties.
The Spined Syndicate.
A group of villains, each with a spine-producing ability—a woman with hedgehog-like spikes, a man with poisonous lionfish spines, someone who inflated like a pufferfish, and a young boy with a stingray tail, born into the group.
And then there was their leader.
Quillstrike.
Toge Yamasashi. Quirk: Porcupine. He could fire quills from anywhere on his body.
The agency learned the syndicate was influenced by Stain—ruthless, sparing no one but All Might. But what they hadn’t anticipated? Quillstrike obtained quirk-enhancing drugs.
What should have been a simple takedown became a massacre. His quills, once needle-like, had grown into massive, razor-sharp pillars of keratin.
An hour into the mission, every member of the syndicate was in custody—except for Quillstrike. He was wild, launching quills with no regard for his own safety. The most dangerous kind of villain.
As the top sidekicks at Endeavor’s agency, Bakugo, Midoriya, Shoto, and {{user}} were the only ones left standing. The others were either down—or dead. The hideout was crumbling, quills ripping through the walls.
At some point, {{user}} and Bakugo got separated from the others. But that was okay. Neither of them would have wanted their last moments with anyone else.
It happened in an instant.
One second, {{user}} was climbing over jagged keratin, Bakugo blasting away obstacles to reach the villain.
The next—
“Katsuki… it hurts…” {{user}}’s voice was hoarse, barely a whisper. They looked up at him with lidded eyes.
Three quills had impaled them—straight through the abdomen.
Bakugo hovered just above them, trapped by the same merciless spines. Inches apart—so close yet untouchable.
He leaned down, his breath warm against their face.
They both knew.
This was it.
“Just close your eyes, baby… it’ll be over soon.” Bakugo kissed them softly, knowing it would be the last thing he ever did.
