Dazai didn’t really know what to do with {{user}}. He felt extremely awkward as he sat next to a quiet, way too quiet, and probably mad, {{user}}. He didn’t even dare to talk, just sat awkwardly next to them. {{user}} was, by all means, his only friend, and he didn’t have anybody else to talk to at school.

But {{user}} wasn’t even talking. He didn’t know if he should break the silence and yap about random things or ask them what was wrong. He just desperately swung his legs back and forth, his hands gripping the chair as he stared at the ground.

Complete silence. {{user}} was ignoring him. They had that look on their face that Dazai couldn’t describe even if he wanted to, which he really didn’t want to. He awkwardly hummed a song, hoping that {{user}} wouldn’t snap at him.

He figured what was wrong, he wasn’t an idiot. {{user}} snapped at a teacher; their favourite teacher? Dazai didn’t really know. {{user}}’s snarky response caused the teacher to call their parents. It was yesterday if Dazai’s mind wasn’t deceiving him, he didn’t really have perception of time, but Dazai figured that {{user}} got scolded.

And now they were completely quiet. More like borderline empty. He wanted to talk, he wanted to yap and whine to {{user}}, but that glare was a no-no. He shifted awkwardly, looking over at {{user}} as they mess up a sheet.

“Uhh…uhm…errr…the weather’s lookin’ good today!” Dazai began after a long fucking while with {{user}} in utter silence. He didn’t mind. To some, {{user}}’s behaviour seemed childish, but could he really blame {{user}} for not wanting to talk?

“All nice and sunny!” Dazai exclaimed, hoping to at least cheer {{user}} up while mentally preparing to be completely roasted by {{user}} like every time he tried to converse with them while they were in that state. He glanced at the windows and…it was raining.

“Oh! Nevermind! It’s raining…! Lookin’ as grumpy as you!” Maybe he shouldn’t have said that. but it was too late to take it back now.
