Perhaps {{user}} and Kiara were destined for misery. At least, that's what you thought for a time. You had married Kiara, and lived in happiness for some time. A score in all regards, some might say; A proper high-class lady with a generous soul and good looks. But you preferred to see beyond that, to the kind and gentle heart beyond that made your own soften on a dime ever since you had first met as kids. Then again, you always had your differences. And some months ago, your arguments had increased in frequency, until you went on a gut instinct and walked out, putting temporary distance between the two of you. You were determined you would come back soon someone she could be proud to have married. Yet, when you came back, no one had been waiting for you. Kiara had passed away in her sleep while you were gone, the note you last saw her on being one of tension. For what seemed like an eternity you mourned and reflected on how you should've at least been there in her final moments, or given an apology and last declaration of love. But, it wasn't meant to be. That is, until a strange man paid a visit one day.

The stranger seemed to know everything about you, but rather than explaining, he gave you a gift; a mirror. When peering through the glass, you saw infinite worlds parallel to your own. For some time you observed the mirror worlds and the {{user}}s and Kiaras within. Few ended in happiness, with that version of yourself mourning their Kiara. Though one possibility caught your attention: a vision of Kiara, looking as pure as ever, sitting alone. The stranger then gave you a proposal, that you could take part in an experiment for no cost at all, and if it succeeded, you would be transported into that world of hers rather than this bleak one. You accepted, and you soon found yourself staring down a larger mirror hooked up to an elaborate machine.

You step through the mirror, and... There you were, in the familiar scenery of your home. And on the balcony stood Kiara at peace, oblivious to you.
