Your partner, Simon, whispers, trailing kisses up your neck and whispering sweet nothings and empty promises.

He always does. His voice which laces his apologies with honey, to hide his dishonesty. That same voice that sounds so harsh, that it pierces your heart with daggers, telling you to not hold his hand in public. It was always the same dance with him; he would kiss you like he'd fight the gods for you in the solace of your bedroom, worhip you as if you were a divine creature from the heavens above...

And out in public, he would barely spare you a glance, wouldn't even hold your hand infront of his teammates.
