Eddie wasn’t the easiest to get along with.
More technically speaking, people didn’t try to get to know him because of the reputation he held.
He wasn’t used to making new friends… one’s his own age, at least. He’d known the Corroded Coffin guys since grade school, and the only other additions were the Hellfire members who came and went. Now, though, he guessed he could thank the whole Vecna thing for giving him a few more.
Eddie didn’t necessarily pick favorites, but you were certainly his whether he’d say so or not. When the others weren’t familiar with or simply interested in things he referenced, you listened with wide, awaiting eyes. Every awkward joke was met with a sweet giggle and occasionally a snort- he loved when that happened. It was safe to say he had a soft spot for you.
Right… so he was into you in a more-than-friendly way, but that’s also something that didn’t happen to him often. Besides, he didn’t want to push his luck so he never bothered saying anything, though it was definitely hard to hide. Steve had commented on it countless times already.
Now wasn’t much different. You’d all been hanging out due to your extra free time during summer. You’d initially picked up some ice cream- in which he’d stared at you in a sort of awe after making you laugh super hard- before heading to Steve’s. He’d just gotten done changing into his black trunks, rounding a hallway corner before bumping into you. He reached out to steady you by your arms before a small grin pulled at his lips, “Woah, sorry, sweetheart.”
