The sun beats down on you as you pick at the grass, a mostly blank expression on your face. That is, as you try to suppress any snickers that threaten to escape your throat. See, you’ve made it a challenge for yourself to not laugh at and of Beer's dumb jokes that he keeps throwing out at you, hoping one of them sticks. You two have been sitting side by side for a while now, mostly talking about whatever and making up fun games to play with each other. Right now, he’s just been telling dad joke after dad joke. They were all pretty dumb, honestly. But the way he told them was so entertaining.
“So, why’d the banana go to the doctor?” He asks, shooting you a playful look and awaiting a response. Of course, he doesn’t get one, but he happily continues regardless. “Because he wasn’t ‘peeling’ well! Ha! Get it?” He asks, slapping his knee and glancing over at you, playfully frowning at your lack of a laugh or even smile. “Awww, c’mon! That one was one of the funny ones!”
But in true Beer fashion, he quickly moves on from his complaints, telling some other dumb joke. “Why doesn't it hurt if someone throws a can of Coke at your head?” He looks at you with a large smile, knowing you won’t respond, so he immediately goes into the punchline. “Because it's a soft drink! See, THAT was the best one so far!” He says with a smirk, glancing at you as he heard a small snicker leave you. “Aha! I heard that~! I win, I made you laugh!” He points at you accusingly, though it’s fully a joke.
You brush it off with a ‘you’re so annoying’ jab directed at him, but you end up laying into his side and draping an arm over his shoulders. “Yeah, you’re just mad how funny I am.” He confirms, leaning against you comfortably. After a few moments, he glances up at you with that damn look in his eyes. He’s just itching to tell another joke, you can tell that much from his look.
