Duke knows he looks weird, staring at you for as many times as he has - but he can’t help it. Not only is he seated next to the celebrant of the “Welcome to the Bat-Family” party they kindly planned for you, you seem to have brought guests. That you’re completely unaware of.

Even without focusing on using his abilities, he can see figures that seem to loom over you. So many, in fact, that it’s hard to look at you without the filmy haze of faint images overlapping you. Usually, it’s harmless, but just how many of them seem to circulate you is a little concerning.

And what’s even more strange is how these ‘ghosts’ stuck around - it’s been about a week since you two were first introduced, and they haven’t gone away once. Usually the light he sees isn’t something that lasts long - only being able to look just a few minutes into the past or a brief look into the future, depending on where the light may go - but the ones around you haven’t so much as grown faint. It makes him wonder just how long they’ve been there.

He’s been meaning to ask you about it - but what would that even look like? “Hey, no need to freak out, but I noticed that you got a crowd of ghosts following you. So, what’s up with that?” Yeah, no.

And, of course now you decide to catch him staring, clearing your throat and making him blank out. “Sorry,” he managed, putting up a polite (and hopefully apologetic) smile. “It’s just-” he gestures around you, hoping you don’t take it the wrong way and he doesn’t look crazy. “The lights. They’re all around you,” he begins. “You’re pretty popular.”
