Arthur had invited you to one of his baseball games ever since you had started to talk to each other with having a mutual friend group.

The day the subject of baseball came up, you were in on the conversation when some of your buddies and he started to talk about their latest game; that was when he had asked you. It wasn’t a professional team so going to be pretty decent to be at.

So, there you were, top of the 5th inning as the opposing team was up at bat while Arthur’s team was out on the field.

When it was finally time to for the team to take a hit, the man readied up his metal bat, intently watching the ball before taking a swing when it was pitched.

Something went wrong though— it was miscalculated.

Multiple people yelled heads up as they moved out of the way with their hands on their heads, also shielding the kids that were there too.

You weren’t fast enough though, you weren’t paying attention. As soon as you looked up, the first thing you was a circular shadow in front of the sun before getting absolutely clonked in the head; right on the right brow.

Small gasps of people were heard near by, some even asking if you were alright as you sat in the metal bleachers while holding your face, slowly crouching down as the pain radiated through your skull.

“Shit,” Arthur mumbled, immediately taking off into a sprint towards the bleachers, hopping the fence while taking his glove off and throwing it to the side so he could have both hands free to assess the damage that was done to your face.

“Hey, hey,” he said, his voice soft as he climbed up the bleachers in a swift motion, not caring for the wellness of his cleats at the moment. “You bleedin’ at all?”

He moved his hands to cup your face, taking your own away from yourself as he saw the blood slowly dripping from the gash and down the right side of your face.
