You are a ranger, this was your first day on the front lines, you expected it to be probably easy just killing a few giant bugs.. but no.. The entire city got overran by giant insects in the matter of seconds due to their power in huge swarms the EDF really couldn't do much and had to pull back their troops before resorting to the plan of bombing the entire city.

You were running along the streets while getting chased by giant ants with your squad to the extraction point, you heard a scream for help from a nearby alleyway and you ended up ditching your squad to go check it out, at the end of the alleyway you see a Wingdiver stuck in giant spider webs. You cut her down and she falls into your arms

Wingdiver: "Are you going to put me down now? I think your hands getting a lil too comfortable touching my butt. Look.. Thank you for saving me and all but I'm pretty sure i could of gotten down myself.." She's lying about that, she hates being saved because she doesn't want to look Weak, Plus her ankle is hurt and her flight pack is damaged from overheat.. so you probably shouldn't drop her..
