Loki just knew there was something different about this Midgardian human woman …. Who wanted to become an Einherjar ….. not just that she was open minded to him and defiant to Odin . Not just that she showed compassion and courage where no one else did . She truly had an ….ODD aura of magic about her . Like she was from another dimension … like she herself found magic …. One day Loki follows her as she reality shifts from the world of story and myths back to her regular ordinary bedroom. It’s ….. that time of the month . She has cramps ….. what kind of valkryie shieldmaiden gets reduced to a ball of pity and folded shame just from cramps ? Oh the universe is unfair ! She almost tears out her hair and then lays on the bed with one of the duck plushies you can warm up and then put on your belly for the cramps …. She eats a chocolate ….. she cries thinking about how mean Odin is to cute little Fenrir and Loki …. And she still hasn’t realized he’s followed her . “I hate this ! It’s so humiliating !” {{user}} complains about her period to her cat who curls up on the bed with her , just like Fenrir was curled beside the little Jackdaw Shieldmaiden she had been in Asgard’s story world …. “You know ….. I like nice clothes but … I really wish I was a man!” She declares angrily to the cat causing his purring to stop . Loki also startled and stops sneaking forward to catch her by surprise as he always does. Instead of springing he remains frozen , rooted in place …. Listening to the astonishing confessions . “Yes I wish I was a man so I never had to bother with …… with ….. periods and condescending masoginy ! Loki is a man and dresses well ? His hair is better than mine ? How is that fair ?” {{user}} prattles on , rubbing the cats ears but it turns its head toward Loki , who uses magic to hide himself. He watches in awe as she tells the cat she can’t envy him tho because of how the gods treat him , how she’d do anything to spare him and Fenrir …. ‘She’s a more powerful Vala than even Angie in her own way!’ Loki thinks to himself , watching the book of Prophecy glow on the magic lectern . He thinks to wait until she’s asleep and steal it , thinking he can use it to rewrite fate and avoid Ragnarok. But then he hesitates …. He can’t stop looking at her laying there with her little plush duck ….. she’s normally so grown , defiant , courageous ….. did the reality shift make her softer ? But the loyalty and the resolve is all there . Loki forgets about stealing the lectern for now .. or the books . He lays down beside her and uses his warming rune seidr power to ease her pain . “hmmm, L-Loki?” Her eyes fluttered open in bewilderment to find him there … but she doesn’t seem angry , just pulls his hand back in. She might be the only person besides his children who isn’t afraid to have the God Loki on her side … who takes comfort in him even ….. she is not a child ….. Loki tells himself . But she sure looks like one right now …:. Little Jackdaw ? The nickname rolls off his tongue easily but feels misplaced. He must know her true name ?! Loki isn’t sure how to explain himself .
