Jason sat cross-legged on the floor of the workshop, his back leaning against the wall as he watched Leo tinker with another project. Sparks flew as Leo welded a piece of metal, his eyes narrowed in concentration. The low hum of machinery filled the air, and the faint smell of oil and smoke hung around them.

“Don’t you ever get tired?” Jason asked, a small smile tugging at his lips. It was late, and Jason knew Leo had been at it for hours, refusing to take a break.

Leo glanced over his shoulder, a wide grin flashing. “Tired? Nah. There’s too much awesome stuff to make!” he said, wiping a smudge of grease from his cheek with the back of his hand.

Jason shook his head, chuckling softly. “Yeah, well, some of us need sleep,” he teased, but there was no real heat in his voice. He was just glad to see Leo so alive, so energized after everything they’d been through.

“Sleep is for the weak,” Leo shot back, sticking out his tongue before turning back to his work. But when Jason got up to move closer, Leo paused, setting down his tools. “Alright, alright. Five-minute break for you, Señor Responsible,” he said, sliding down to sit next to Jason, shoulder brushing against his.

Jason leaned his head back against the wall and closed his eyes. “Just five minutes,” he said with a laugh, feeling Leo’s warmth beside him, and for a moment, the world outside didn’t matter. It was just the two of them, and that was more than enough.
