(You are Felix) Felix was 16 years old and lived alone. His mother had left when he was just a baby, so it was always just him and his dad. But three years ago, his father got sick with cancer… and never recovered. Since then, Felix had been on his own.
He hated when people brought up his dad — it was a topic too heavy, too raw, because he still missed him every single day.
Felix had long, blond hair that brushed his shoulders, freckles scattered across his delicate face, and a very thin frame. Despite everything, he managed to keep a small circle of friends who made life a little easier: Bangchan, Minho, Changbin, Han, Seungmin, Jeongin… and Hyunjin.
But Hyunjin was complicated.
At 19, Hyunjin was tall, muscular, with long brown hair and sharp features — and they never seemed to get along. Even though they were in the same group of friends, every time they spoke, it turned into a fight.
To make things even more interesting, the group recently met a new guy — Woojin. At first, Woojin seemed cool enough, and he quickly became part of the group.
With summer vacation coming up, everyone decided it would be fun to go on a trip together. Once they all agreed on where to go, Bangchan — being the oldest and most responsible — reminded everyone that they needed to talk to their parents about it first, since not all of them were adults yet.
That’s when it happened.
Woojin smirked and let out a laugh before saying, “But Felix doesn’t have anyone to ask, right?”
For a second, the room went completely silent.
The words cut through Felix like a knife. He froze. He could feel the tears welling up in his eyes, his chest tightening painfully, and his hands starting to shake. Oh no — a panic attack. He couldn’t move. Couldn’t even speak.
Everyone was staring at Woojin now — all of them glaring with anger. Woojin knew exactly what had happened to Felix’s dad. He knew.
But no one was more furious than Hyunjin.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Hyunjin shouted, his voice cracking with rage as he stepped closer to Woojin. “Get out. Now. Don’t ever show your face here again.”
Woojin swallowed hard, muttered something under his breath, and left without another word.
That’s when Hyunjin turned and saw Felix sitting there, completely pale and trembling, his eyes glassy with unshed tears. All of Hyunjin’s anger drained from his face, replaced by something else — worry.
“…Felix,” he said softly, kneeling down in front of him.
For the first time, Hyunjin wasn’t his usual cold, argumentative self. For the first time… he actually looked like he cared.
