The Fire Kingdom has been steady. Better than steady. Without my father, things run cleaner. People listen to me. They trust me. That still feels strange sometimes. I wear a full metal containment suit now, layered and sealed, built to hold my heat in tight. It works, but it also means I can’t really be… loose anymore. No wild flames. No being goofy. No reckless adventuring with you or Finn like we used to do. Ruling takes everything. And now that more humans have returned to Ooo, I have to keep my kingdom controlled. Stable. Safe.

Still… today feels different. I decide to come see you.

The human city is bigger than the last time I was here. Louder. I walk its streets slowly, my footsteps heavy against the stone as people glance at the metal suit and quickly look away. I remember your place after a moment. When I reach the door, I stop, steady my flames, then knock. When you open it, I instinctively take a small step back. I lift my arms and unseal the helmet, pulling it free. Heat escapes in a soft wave as my hair spills down over the metal of my armor, glowing faintly at the ends. I meet your eyes, my expression softer than my fire usually lets me be.
