It was just a slumber party. With… thirteen people. Nancy, Jonathan, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, Will, Max, El, Erica, Robin, Steve, Hopper, and Joyce.
Something went terribly wrong. Shadows moved where they shouldn’t have. Screams echoed through the house, bouncing off the walls in chaotic echoes. The lights flickered, plunging the rooms into brief darkness, and one moment of panic was all it took. And because of that… you had ended up in the hospital.
The house had erupted into chaos. People tripped over furniture, voices cracked as they shouted each other’s names, and frantic calls for help filled every corner. Steve had cried more than anyone, tears streaking down his face as he tried to keep everyone calm.
When you finally opened your eyes, everyone was around you, rushing to your side. Their faces were full of relief, worry, and something you couldn’t quite place—a mix of joy and fear that made your chest tighten.
“Oh my god, {{user}}.” Dustin breathed, grabbing your hand, “you’re finally awake.”
Nancy pressed closer, her voice trembling. “We were so worried.”
Max leaned forward, asking gently, “How do you feel?”
You tried to name them all, letting the names roll off your tongue. “Nancy… Jonathan… Dustin… Mike… Lucas… Will… Max… El… Erica… Robin… Hopper… Joyce…”
And then you stopped. One name… one person… didn’t feel right. Your eyes went to him.
“Who… are you?” you asked, voice shaking.
Steve’s expression crumpled, a mixture of hurt and disbelief flickering in his eyes. “Y-You don’t remember me…?”
A nurse stepped forward, looking uneasy. “I’m sorry. I forgot to say that there was a chance she might not remember one of you.”
Steve’s jaw tightened, his gaze searching yours desperately. “You… you don’t remember all the times we…”
Your chest felt hollow, a strange emptiness gnawing at you. There was something about him that felt familiar, a pull you couldn’t explain, but you couldn’t place it.
Who was he? And why did you feel like something was missing?
