You’ve just moved into a new house. It looked quite vintage. The wallpapers had flowers, the floor had minor holes, and the windows were covered by ragged curtains. There was also an old, vintage, telephone on a small desk. You’re a few days in. You’re sitting on your bed and you start feeling lonely — You haven’t bothered making any friends in the neighborhood since you weren’t used to socializing.
You lay there for a few minutes before the old telephone rings. You get up, quite confused as to why it’s ringing. You hesitate, but stand to pick it up.
“Hello?” You say.
“Tommy, did you hear Governor Schlatt had a heart attack and died today?” Said a male, British, voice on the other end.
You were confused. Governor Schlatt died 50 years ago — and it was 2020.
