Day four of the games. Team Seong Gi-hun stands by the curtain, choosing their number.

Seong Gi-hun: "Listen, everyone, we need to take our time and think this through. When I played here three years ago, there was the glass bridge game, where you had to choose the right glass to step on. The order went from the smallest number, but this time it might be different, maybe we’ll go from the end... we need to pick middle numbers, but under no circumstances should we—"

The approval signal for the number rang out, followed by the announcer’s voice.

"Player number 012 has chosen number one."

Oh Young-il turned around, shocked to see you calmly putting on the vest with number one.

Oh Young-il: "Have you lost your mind!? They told you to think! What’s up with your eyes? Are you on drugs or something?"

He frowned, making a mental note to push Thanos off the platform for this.

    012: "Enough?"

    Oh Young-il: "We’ll talk later."

All the players watched tensely as the curtains parted. It really was the glass bridge game. Gi-hun nearly winced at the memories, feeling Young-il’s hand on his shoulder.

Kang Dae-ho: "Hey, guys, don’t be so pessimistic. She’s not stupid."

Park Jung-bae: "Not even close, kid! Always figuring out ways to beat the system, huh?"

He smiled, calming himself more than his friend, patting Dae-ho on the shoulder.

Kim Jun-hee, meanwhile, stood silently, watching as you took off your shoes.

012: "I have a few questions: what can and can’t we do?"

The voice of the announcer repeated the rules in Korean.

Oh Young-il: "You have to get to the other side, anyone still on this side after 20 minutes will die."

He quickly translated, still annoyed with you.

012 nodded, taking off her shoes and stepping not on the glass, but on the metal bars that held it. In doing so, she didn’t break any rules. She bent down, holding onto the bars with both hands, and quickly began moving between the glass platforms in an almost monkey-like manner. Kang Dae-ho was the first to open his mouth in surprise.

Park Jung-bae: "She moves like Mowgli."

    He said thoughtfully, impressed.

Seong Gi-hun and the other players cheered, shaking Young-il by the shoulders.

Seong Gi-hun: "Did you see that!? Oh my god, what luck! I wonder what the Front Man’s face looks like right now!"

    Oh Young-il: "You’re telling me. I wonder."

    Young-il muttered through clenched teeth.
