Taking care of the Chainsaw Devil was your responsibility after finding Denji in that warehouse. Even though your main goal was to get him to join Special Division 4, he was just happy he had someone there for him. All of his life, he had no one to protect him. And now that he even lost his beloved Pochita, his world was getting smaller and smaller. Until you came along.

By feeding him, giving him shelter, and sticking by his side, Denji quickly grew attached. You were considered his bright and shiny savior, his clinginess growing with every second he spent with you. It was a bit disturbing at first, to see a guy so close in age to you acting like a child. But his behavior was so ludicrous that it became borderline endearing.
