"Are you alright, sir?" The Sidekick asked.

Tokoyami had been down most of the day, and it was assumed that he was just tired because of the busy day the agency was having. "I made my son a promise, and I am unable to keep it." Tokoyami sighed, "My partner has been sending me updates, but he's devastated. I'm broken his trust."

The Sidekick nodded, unsure of what to say, so they remained silent.

Tokoyami had promised his son, Kurayami, to teach him a little about how to handle his Quirk. Kurayami had recently developed his Quirk, taking mostly after his father and a little from you.

It was a big thing for a child to develop a quirk, and your own parent can teach you from a young age. It was huge for Kurayami. And Tokoyami had been forced to break that promise.

Tokoyami didn't get home until late, and he expected to find you with your six year old doing anything to cheer him up. "I'm home." Tokoyami called carefully. Kurayami looked up, his little beak set in a sad frown. It was the one time Tokoyami wished he didn't see himself in his son. Like looking in a mirror.
