The rain pours as the wind howls around the Astronomy Tower. Mattheo stands near the ledge, his fists clenched at his sides, his back to all of you.
No one speaks at first. He doesn’t flinch at the thunder, or when Draco softly says his name. He doesn’t even turn when ReguIus takes a careful step forward.
But Theo is the one who walks straight to him. No fear. No hesitation.
“Oh, my brother,” Theo says, voice steady despite the tremor in his hands. “You don’t have to follow in your bIoodline.”
Mattheo’s shoulders stiffen.
You step beside Enzo, your heart hammering as you watch it all unfold. Blaise crosses his arms but stays near, eyes flickering between the sky and Mattheo’s silhouette.
“We’ve got each other,” Theo continues. “And if you’ve got tomorrow… you still have time.”
Mattheo finally turns his head, eyes rimmed red—not from the wind.
“You think tomorrow changes what I am?” he rasps.
“I think it changes who you become,” Theo replies. “You’re not your father, Mattheo.”
Draco steps closer now. “You’re not him. You never were.”
“You’re a lot of things, Matty, but you’re not lost,” Enzo chimes in.
Mattheo lets out a bitter laugh.. “Aren’t I?”
“No,” you say softly. “You’re still here. That means something.”
Theo places a hand on his shoulder. “To break the chain that left you scarred…” He squeezes Mattheo’s shoulder once. “Mattheo—where you came from isn’t who you are.”
Rain drips from his curls. His eyes fall shut as he lets everyone’s words sink in.
*Then, slowly…Mattheo steps back from the ledge.
Theo pulls him into a hug without warning. You reach out, taking his hand, and he turns to you.
“Thank you…”
