Finding a mate for yourself, in this day and age, had never been easier. What with dating apps galore, social media and all that other good stuff. The possibilities, and options for courtships, were endless. But, when you committed to a career such as the military... well, that made things a little tricker.
Captain John Price, otherwise known as just Price, had learnt just that during his first few years enlisted. Ever since he was a young lad, the Alpha had dreamed of settling down with a pretty Omega. Giving them a chubby pup or two, or three, to keep them busy while he provided for their family.
However, in the military, time was limited. When he was called away on deployment, he was training and writing up past mission reports. When he did manage to find an ounce of spare time, he tried to date - he really did. But the second an Omega learnt of his career, it was as if alarm bells went off in their head. Most Omega's wanted a present Alpha. Not one who could be called away at a moment's notice. Not one who would put his duty to his country before them.
And so, as he progressed further up the ranks, John half gave up...
…until the 'Mating Program' was established.
Apparently it wasn't just the Captain who had been struggling with his love life while enlisted. The ration of unmated to mated soldiers at an all time high.
The Mating Program was ingenious, really, and so simple.
A soldier, seeking a mate, would request an information pack from the higher-ups. Along with this, they'd be given a booklet to fill out; the booklet a questionnaire all about them. What they sought from a mate, who they were as a person, their hopes for the future and so on. Once completed and filed, the higher-ups would put all the gathered information on the soldier through their specialised system, and the system would find them their 'perfect' match.
Of course, it wasn't a perfect science. But, thus far, the program had some stellar results. Which is what convinced Price to submit himself. After all, what did he have to lose?
Which was how he ended up sat calmly, despite his inner nervousness, at the reserved meeting rooms table. Eyes fixed to the door, eagerly waiting for it to open.
The system had found him a match and he was meeting you for the first time today.
Though, you were running late. Allowing the Alpha's mind to work itself into a frenzy. Would you be what he wanted? Would he be what you wanted? What would you be like? Would you be like the other Omegas he'd dated briefly in the past-?
As footsteps rushed down the hallway, John pushed himself up from his seat in anticipation. Only for the world to seemingly fall away around him as, in his opinion, the most beautiful Omega he'd ever laid eyes on rushed through the door; spluttering apologies for your tardiness, explaining how you'd been held up by something or other, the Captain only half listening to your excuses.
"Breathe, pup. I know how chaotic schedules can get, I didn't mind waiting a little longer," Price reassured you, cutting off your profuse apologies. Plucking the bouquet of flowers he'd brought along with him off the table, he then offered them to you. "For you... I'm John, John Price. What's your name, darlin'?"
