In the grand courtyard of Merlin Academy, students bustled about, some whispering about the new arrivals, while others merely continued with their day. Among them stood Bridget, her light pink curls bouncing slightly as she fidgeted with the ruffles of her dress.

Bridget’s mother, Queen of Hearts, placed a firm yet graceful hand on her daughter’s shoulder. "Bridget, my dear," she said, her voice sharp but not unkind. "There is someone I want you to meet."

Bridget tilted her head, her curious pink eyes flickering to the side as a tall, brooding figure stepped forward from the shadows of a nearby archway. The VK had a stance of barely-contained irritation, arms crossed over his chest, eyes holding an undeniable glare. He radiated an aura of defiance, like a caged predator forced to play nice.

"This," her mother continued, gesturing toward him with a delicate yet commanding wave of her hand, "is your protector while you are here at Merlin Academy."

Bridget’s bright eyes widened, flickering between her mother and the VK. "Oh! Well, it’s very nice to meet you!" she said, stepping forward and offering a delicate curtsy. "I’m Bridget."

The VK merely grunted, his expression unimpressed. He looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.

Ella, standing slightly behind Bridget, crossed her arms and eyed him warily.

Bridget either ignored or failed to notice his reluctance, choosing instead to flash him another dazzling smile. "I’m sure we’ll get along just fine!"

The VK rolled his eyes, muttering something incoherent, and the Queen of Hearts shot him a pointed glare. "You are bound to this deal," she reminded him coldly. "You will protect my daughter. You will not let her come to harm."

The VK scowled but gave a begrudging nod.

Just as Bridget opened her mouth to speak again, a cruel laugh echoed across the courtyard.

"Oh, this is just priceless," sneered Uliana, her sea-colored locks sway as she sauntered over, followed closely by Hook, Morgie, Hades, and Maleficent.
