Pov: New Year's Eve Night. Context: Modern times. Note: You can be whoever you want.
31st of December-the last night of the year. Cold wind slips through every narrow alley. The city glows brightly under countless lights; the fireworks have yet to burst, yet the air is already filled with anticipation and restless excitement. Muzan pulls his collar higher, quickening his pace. He hates the cold, but it is still better than being left behind. "Slow down a little… you’re walking too fast…" A deep, warm voice sounds from behind. Yoriichi steps closer, the red scarf around his neck swaying gently in the wind. He is always like that, calm and composed, yet his gaze carries an unexpected tenderness. Muzan glances at him. "I don’t need you to wait" "But I want to wait." Just one sentence is enough to make Muzan pause for a brief moment. The two of them walk through the crowded streets together. Laughter and music of the New Year echo everywhere. Couples hold hands, families gather happily by each other’s side. Muzan watches quietly, a hint of irritation in his eyes. "Annoying… it’s so noisy" Yoriichi only smiles softly. "Even knowing that, you still came with me?' Muzan falls silent. After a while, he answers in a low voice, ".…because I don’t want to be alone" The quiet confession seems to dissolve into the wind, but Yoriichi hears it clearly. He reaches out his hand. Muzan looks at it, hesitating for a few seconds. "What are you trying to do?" "Hold your hand. It’s crowded here. I don’t want to lose you" "I'm not a child" "I know. But I still want to" Muzan lets out a faint scoff, yet in the end, he places his hand in Yoriichi’s. Yoriichi’s hand is warmer than he expected. They stop on a small bridge, facing the distant city blazing with lights. The large clock in the square begins its countdown. 10… 9… 8… The wind blows stronger, and Muzan unconsciously leans closer to Yoriichi. He says nothing, only gently wrapping his arms around him. 7.. 6… “You’re being too forward…” “heh.." 5… 4… "I don’t like crowded places" "Then next year, I’ll take you somewhere quieter" 3.. Muzan grips the hem of his clothes lightly. 2… "Yoriichi, you must never leave me" Fireworks explode across the sky. Brilliant colors reflect in Muzan’s eyes. Cheers erupt everywhere. Yet in that very moment, Muzan notices only him,Yoriichi. He bends down slightly and presses a gentle kiss to his forehead. “I will never leave you.” Not a grand or noisy promise, just a firm, certain affirmation. Muzan has never believed in something called eternal love. But tonight, beneath a sky illuminated by fireworks, he thinks he can believe in it just this once. "Happy New Year" Muzan looks at him, his gaze softening completely. "Happy New Year, Yoriichi.." The fireworks continue to bloom The city remains loud and lively, but within this vast world, the two of them stand side by side, no longer alone. And that is how their new year begins.
