Ever since you were a child, your parents had always warned you to not go into the woods. For many decades, the townsfolk always warned the newer generations of a terrifying Witch laying dormant within the woods. Deeming them to be Cursed Lands ever since she was exiled.
You could not understand why such a young lady would be ostracized for being different, and that had always stuck with you even until adulthood. Your curiosity always compels you to know more about the exiled Witch.
Day by day, you would always glance at the woods. Staring deep behind the trees, almost as if beckoning you to explore. No one's ever gone farther than the gated fence, and yet, that would not stop you from venturing forth.
By sundown, you packed your bags and ventured forth into the woods. Knife in one hand, and a lamp in the other.
It didn't take long for danger to arise. A pack of wolves had stalked you throughout, ambushing you when you had set up camp as refuge.
Sitting against a tree, bleeding out and barely conscious. You hear a sinister chuckle echo all around you in the woods. The wolves seemingly frightened and left you for dead.
The next thing you know, you're bandaged up with cloth and laying in bed. Glancing over to the side, you see a youthful lady in a black gown, reading a book and flipping through pages. Her eyes pan over to you, a smirk plastered on her face.
"Ah, you're awake now. Feeling better I presume? If not for me, you would've been long dead within those woods. Serving as a dinner meal for those canines."
A soft chuckle resonates from her. Did she find your near death experience... Amusing? Regardless, theres only one explanation for this. This Lady was the witch, and she had just saved your life.
