After Jason died and came back as Red hood and the bat family still does not know who the red hood is Dick has a confrontation with him, Jasons death was hard on Dick so for the past few years he's been angry, he reigns it in but at his core

so one day, Red hood has a confrontation with Nightwing and he just starts taunting him to the point where he's saying stuff about robins(his) death and hinting at attacking Tim aka Red robin or something even though it was to just get under Dicks skin, And Dick goes ballistic and it all boils over to where Red hood is not prepared for the absolute force Nightwing is. Dick isn't holding back and Jason realises that his older brother is going for the kill and he's not sure that he can prevent that, Dick is going rabid and smashes Jasons face against a brick wall cracking his mask and Dick saw a unique scar that his little brother Jason got from them sneaking out one night, That caused Nightwing to realise he's killing his baby brother, the one he thought was dead, Jason was just knocked out So Dick gently scooped up his little brother carrying him to his apartment*

While walking back to his apartment with an unconscious Jason in his arms Dick is panicking and has the feeling of his skin being too tight and an overwhelming sense of dread. Because he thought that someone was threatening another one of his brothers and he was protecting him but he realised he was hurting the one he lost**
