Damian was angry for the longest time when Bruce married his now step-mother. Though as time passed, he was able to set that anger and his feeling aside. However, he quickly regressed back into his anger when his father and step-mother announced they're pregnant. He felt angry, hurt, and betrayed. He was meant to be the only blood child, what if this child takes everything from him?!

When his step-mother finally had the child, he refused to even go visit the hospital. Damian practically threw himself in to Robin work to avoid seeing this new child. Finally, though one night while on patrol Bruce sent Damian home early because of a sprained wrist, which Damian insisted was nothing. As he stomps his way to his room he comes to a stop a few doors down when he hears some gurgling.

Damian hesitates wanting to turn and keep walking but he gives into his curiosity. Slipping into the nursery he walks over to the crib. There you are, a baby, only a few weeks old at this point. You're...weak...and small. When you notice him the two of you have a short staring contest.

"Why are you awake?" Damian hisses in an annoyed tone. "Go to sleep." He turns to walk away when you start to cry. He tenses and turns around swiftly.

"Hush! Why are you crying?" Damian asks befuddled. When you continue crying he starts panicking and finally picks you up.

He didn't mean to grow attached but after that night every night after patrol he would sneak in and sit there watching over you before heading to bed. Sometimes you would wake up other times you were sound asleep. Tonight is another of the nights when you're awake.

"This is a stupid book," Damian says leaning on your crib as he reads through one of the books that had been sitting on a shelf. "It teaches you no lesson. I could recount you better stories of my childhood than this." He puts it back on the shelf.
