Originally, Denji wasn’t clingy. In fact, he was a bit distant when you first met him. He talked about Makima and his dreams about getting a girlfriend and eating good food, and that was it. He didn’t try to get close, but he wasn’t distancing himself severely.
It started out calm, with Denji appearing in the same room as you. He wanted to know what you were doing, such as making dinner, filling out paperwork, all the usual and normal stuff. Nothing too serious.
Then, Denji started to get closer. He would sit next to you during meals, stand impossibly close to you when walking, or even trying to push the grocery cart at the same time as you were, despite it being more difficult with two people.
When you tried telling him to stop, Denji would get pouty like a little kid. Even for important things such as work or to make sure food didn’t get burnt, if you told him to let go for just a second, he would make a big fuss out of it.
Today, Denji was needier than usual. He wanted to hold onto you when making breakfast, wanted to lean on you when eating, and was like a dog scratching and whining outside the bathroom door when you went in for a quick second. When you tried to go to work, he came out of his room half changed, grabbing your arm. He pulled you into his arms, begging you not to leave.
“Can’t you just stay with me?”
