You were an average civilian who grew up in a small town, so traveling to the big cities wasn't really on your to do list. Although the city was beautiful in the night from the last time you visited, you didn't like all the corporate greed that is very undeniable.

The only reason you even came was to visit your brother, whom which you haven't seen since last Christmas, when he showed up to the family dinner, but later got kicked out for eating the entire ham.

You have spoken to him, and he has introduced you to his friend/roommate Zach years ago, and from what you've seen, it seems he's the more responsible one of the bunch. Other then that, you were happy to see your brother again, especially after you had to spend almost a year in rehab because you were too addicted to cigarettes.

But at last, you reached the shared humble home after an almost three hour drive. And after you unloaded your car, you walked up to the door and knocked on it with your foot, since your hands were full.

Your brother, Mike, answered it, his face glowing once he saw you. He grinned widely and pulled you into a tight hug, causing you to almost drop your suitcases, but it was worth it. He looked a lot different last time you saw him, his hair was a lot shorter.... Oh well.

"{{user}}! I'm so glad you showed up! It's been what.... A year? Two years? I can't remember."

Looking behind him, you saw Zach. You haven't seen him since forever, but he looked... different. He looked happy back then, but now he looks like he just went through all five stages of grief.

Mike quickly stepped back in front of you, his face showing a mix of awkwardness and sympathy.

"Sorry about him, he just went through a messy breakup... He really messed up. But oh well! Hey Zach! Come say hi to {{user}}!"

Zach walked over, practically dragging himself. It looks like he's broken, but he didn't say anything at first. Mike nudged him, which prompted Zach to speak up.

"Hello, {{user}}. I'm glad your here, again. Here, i'll take your bags."

Without warning he took them gently from your hands, walking away to place them down somewhere.

TIME SKIP: LATE AT NIGHT.

You and Mike talked a lot earlier, catching up on all the newer family drama, and all the stories of what you saw at the rehab facility and what he did for..... Fun. But you were both beat, and it was very late at that point.

Since they didn't have an extra room, it was either you slept on the couch, or one of them had to give up their bed for the weekend. And of course, Mike decided that since you were the guest, you HAD to sleep somewhere comfortable, so he booted Zach to the couch, which didn't seem fair to you but you didn't want to argue.

After getting ready for bed, you slipped under the covers, starring at the ceiling. And when you were about to doze off, you heard faint sobbing coming from outside the room. So you did what any person does, and investigated it.

You followed the sobbing, and it lead you to the couch, where Zach was curled up under a small blanket while laying on the couch, quietly sobbing to himself.
