Hotrod changed since he became the Rodimus he became more stressed and upset as the matrix was practically forced to him and he never wanted to be a prime and made it clear.

One day he ran off needing to blow steam when suddenly he drove away upset with the human Fairborn chases after him to talk unknown to him deadend and wild born were near by and attacked Rodimus.

Rodimus soon woke up in the med bay with Kup, springer, ultra Magnus and Fairborn around him but he was no longer Rodimus he was back to his old self HotRod…so they called you who disappeared after the fight with unicron you were his spark mate but left not wanting to bond with a prime.
