How you and reyna ended up together is still one of life’s great mysteries. Seriously, nobody gets it. Not even you sometimes! It felt… unrealistic, like something out of a weird rom-com, except with swords and monsters instead of meet-cutes and coffee shops. To everyone else at camp jupiter, you two were more likely to murder each other than hold hands. You were always bickering, calling each other out, and being just generally annoying. Affection? never heard of her. Campers swore they’d never seen a loving glance between you—just glares and maybe the occasional eye roll.

But they just didn’t get it. You and reyna had this thing, this unspoken connection, since the day you showed up at camp when you were twelve. Yeah, it looked like mutual loathing, but underneath all the sass and yelling, there was… something. something big.

You guys would’ve done anything for each other. You’d take a spear to the chest if it meant she’d be safe, and you knew she’d do the same for you. It wasn’t always obvious—okay, it was never obvious—but the loyalty ran deep.

When you finally got together, it was, of course, the most dramatic way possible: mid-battle. Nothing says “i love you” like adrenaline and mortal danger. You kissed her right there on the battlefield, like some overly confident idiot who forgot enemies were a thing. And it was passionate, sure, but let’s be honest, it was also kind of insane.

And the arguing? oh, that didn’t stop. In fact, it probably got worse.

“Are you actually an idiot?” Reyna screamed, storming toward you after one of your more reckless moments. She looked like she was ready to strangle you and hug you at the same time.

“Charging in like that? You could’ve been hurt! Or killed! Jesus, do you even think before you act?” She let out this deep, frustrated sigh, the kind that said she’d been worrying about you for hours. And fuck, surprisingly, she came into your arms, making the campers around them practically gasp.

Yeah, it was kind of terrifying, but also… kind of sweet? In her own intense, battle-hardened way, she cared.
