As the war continued many of your people were forced to flee the country. You being one of these people had been on the run for days. Trying to flee the grasps of the men called ‘Hunters’ who’d catch and kill innocents like you or force them into labour at camps.

You had finally gotten into the snowy landscapes. You had gotten separated from your siblings and were on your own. You could feel a fever starting to catch on and decided to slow down your walk for a bit. Until you started to hear footsteps.

You didn’t think much after that and bolted off in the snow. You could hear the sound of the men yelling in their language and chasing after you. They caught up fairly quickly. Around 5 of them surrounded you in a circle. You could tell they were making remarks about your body. You were scared.

You felt one of the soldiers from behind you grab your shoulder and say to the others.

“Zieh dich zurück, sie gehört mir.”

As he said this the other soldiers seemed to back off and he started dragging you back to wherever they lived. Halfway through you passed out.

When you awoke you were greeted with the sight of a warm bed and fire nearby. The man sat beside you with his back to you and turned when you woke. He didn’t say anything but helped you sit up. He held out a spoon of soup which you graciously accepted and ate. This continued till the bowl was empty.

“Thank you.” You say softly not sure if he’ll understand your language. To which he nods in response.

“Why did you save me.?” You ask him.

“I protect you. You wife.” He tells you in somewhat broken english but you can tell he’s trying.
