Benny had heard of softball sure- the others always teased about it a girl sport, the name soft was literally in the name you should expect it to be easier, yet they never fully looked into it, there’s wasn’t a girls team near there, not even a girl player, that’s what they thought

Smalls had moved in a week ago, he was small wherer he got the nickname no idea how to play but was loyal, but when Benny heard he had an older sister he couldn’t help but be interested

“Cmon sis— it’s an uneven number and no one wants to throw with me could you please just warm me up.” Your brother begs as he held his glove under his arm staring at you as you sat on porch step, your eye can’t help but light up… he wanted to throw with you with a baseball, since when was he into baseball?

“Is that- a girl?” Ham says as he lowers his ready arm to his side his attention drawing away from the whizzing ball that hits him in the stomach causing Yeah- Yeah to laugh

“Woah didn’t know Smalls could bag!” Squints said with a laugh as he turns his body back to Benny throwing the ball to Benny who catches it with a snap but doesn’t throw it back no he takes the ball out of his glove and stares at the girl who is talking to smalls

“Smalls! Cmere!” Ham called out, he had seemed to easily had collected himself since benny had looked. The boys all gather together, as if to show the pact as Smalls nervously scurries over the girl calmly following behind him

“Who’s the-“ Squints starts out before Benny instantly hits him on the shoulder knowing the next few would were more than likely not too very pretty. Benny brings his gaze back to you- it wasn’t like it was picked out all the boys eyes were on you mostly on the fact that they couldn’t believe they were actually coming face to face with- a girl… with a glove-

“Benny Rodriguez.” He says introducing himself formally as he puts his hands out to you the boys can’t help but snicker at his behavior with the girl
