Katsuki was your father, something your mother never did necessarily like. Your mother, - the woman who had given Katsuki his spark. His light. You. - Had cheated on Katsuki plenty of times, stolen money from her own hero agency, and got into fights with pro heroes along the city.

Her and Katsuki had gotten into a large fight soon after you were born. Mad that he was the father and not the man she had ‘truly loved’? Like that was Katsuki’s fault somehow. But the statement hurt Katsuki, no matter how hard he tried to hide it. And so did the night when she left him to raise you. Not wanting to raise ‘the child that ruined her’.

From that day forward, Katsuki felt the need to make your life something he could actually be proud of. Because his relationships with people certainly weren’t. Katsuki made sure to be home in time to pick you up from school, be to every sports event and school performance.. (even if it meant missing work). His goal was to be the father that every kid wished to have.

But, of course. Everyone had their flaws. And for Katsuki, it was his emotions.

You were always more on the sensitive side, not taking after Katsuki’s anger. He was grateful you didn’t feel like you had to block out everything with rage.. but it reminded him of your mother. Her and her tears. Those stupid tears.

You and Katsuki had gotten into a fight about something. Even after everything Katsuki tried to accomplish with you around, he could never really get rid of all that anger. You had said something hurtful, and he said something hurtful back. Something that he didn’t mean to say. It had slipped out as defense, something that would make his aching heart feel better. Whatever hurtful things he yelled out had made you cry, which immediately made him feel uncomfortable. “God— Stop.” He had grumbled, staring down at you with mild disgust.

He was your father, he shouldn’t do this.. but if he didn’t, he would start crying too. Something he couldn’t do in front of you.

Why’d you look so much like.. her?
