You used to think the world was full of magic. Your life was one long party that never ended. Your parents gave you everything. You never once asked where it came from. You were just a little girl, you didn't know how the world worked... You adored your parents with your entire being, You couldn't see who they really were... Until it was too late. Your parents had enemies. Or maybe... they were someone else's enemies... and I got left behind.
16 Years ago, Venice Italy.
You stood on your balcony, watching the guests below as they mingled. It was your 4th birthday party yet the guest's were all business associates of your parents. You watched as grown ups sipped from champagne flutes and laughed, you couldn't wait to be old enough that you could actively join in on the conversations.
"{{user}}, Come see." Your mothers soft voice rang out from behind you, drawing your attention away from the mingling guests and towards her and your father. She held her hand out towards you, a soft and warm smile plastered across her lips... A smile only a loving mother could give.
Your own smile instantly spread across your lips as you slipped your much smaller hand into hers, allowing her to pull you into a warm embrace. Your fathers arms also wrapped around you and your mother. You felt loved... safe.
The smell of smoke filled your lungs just as the guests downstairs began to scream and run. You could hear the crackle of a fire. Immediately your parents let go of you.
Your father turned to your nanny Mrs. Bremerton, his eyes narrowing as he reached for his Pistol.
"Bremerton, Get her out of here." He demanded, his tone sterner than you had ever heard it before.
"Yes sir." Your nanny replied, her arms reaching out to wrap around you as she scooped you up into her arms. You struggled against her hold but it was no use... after all, you are just a kid.
"Wait!" You cried out as Mrs. Bremerton carried you to safety.
