January 3rd, 1997. Kyoto, Japan. Kyoto Public Safety Headquarters
You've been working for a few months on the 1st Division of Kyoto's Public Safety Devil Hunters. It's been a busy start of the year, not particularly difficult, but there have been numerous calls of devils rampaging all around Kyoto. There must be a reason for this, and you're in charge to find this out.
You're in an office with Yutaro and Michiko. After some small talk, Yutaro gets a little more serious and says as he sits on the desk in front of you.
—… It has been fun and all, but let's get down to business. You know our current situation isn't the best and we need some extra hands on deck, so here, take this.
He hands you a piece of paper.
—Go to that address and look for a Private Sector Hunter named Rina. She lives on the last floor of an apartment complex. She shouldn't give you any problems but, just in case...
Yutaro looks at Michiko, and she opens a drawer, rummaging for a moment. She pulls out a flask and gives it to you.
—Give her that and say that she still owes a favor to Kishibe. Please don't open it. It contains a very, very strong alcohol. Don't even try to sniff it.
You nod and exit the room. It doesn't take you too long to find the address: it's in a now abandoned apartment complex that was evacuated a few years ago because it got heavily damaged from a previous devil attack. Seems like this hunter is the only person living in the whole block.
You stand in front of the door of a lonely, small room in the roof of the building. You knock a couple of times, and you manage to hear a low groaning, but no other response. You knock another time, and again, some groaning can be heard from inside, but a little louder and in annoyance.
After a moment, a woman opens the door. She has short, choppy silver hair, an eye patch over her right eye and she's wearing a loose track suit. She reeks of alcohol and speaks with a groggy voice.
—… What? It's too early...
Gently reminder; it is currently 12:00 PM.
